To address this issue, the author’s research objective is to engineer bacteriophages, modifying key regions of the phage tail fiber to expand their host range and prevent the development of resistance.

A research article titled “Trojan Horse Virus Carrying CRISPR-AsCas12f1 Controls Bacterial Wilt in Plants” was published in *mBio* by Professor Zheng Dehong from the State Key Laboratory of Subtropical Agriculture Bioresource Protection and Utilization and Guangxi University. Inspired by the ancient Greek fable of the Trojan Horse, the authors used filamentous bacteriophages as the “Trojan Horse” to infiltrate the enemy, using a miniature CRISPR-AsCas12f1 system as a weapon to target the hrpB gene, one of the pathogenic genes of Ralstonia solanacearum, reducing its pathogenicity and thus increasing the survival rate of susceptible plants. The engineered bacteriophage can also spread within the host bacteria, suppressing the proportion of wild-type strains.

Recently, GreenLong Bio, a bacteriophage biomanufacturing industry platform, announced the completion of tens of millions of yuan in Pre-A round financing, exclusively invested by Shenzhen Venture Capital, with Kaicheng Capital serving as the long-term exclusive financial advisor. This round of financing will mainly be used to accelerate product innovation in multiple application scenarios of bacteriophages and certificate applications. Pre-A+ round financing is underway.

　　From February 26th to 28th, 2025, the Third (2025) Broiler Industry Five Sacred Mountains Forum and Shandong Broiler Industry Development Conference was grandly held in Yantai. The conference was hosted by the Shandong Provincial Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau and the Shandong Provincial Animal Husbandry Association, and undertaken by the Yantai Municipal Agriculture and Rural Bureau and the Broiler Branch of the Shandong Provincial Animal Husbandry Association. It attracted numerous leading domestic broiler companies, related industry chain enterprises, and representatives from scientific research institutes to gather together and discuss new development paths for the broiler industry.
